Dog Day & Summer Kick Off at Community Gardens

Dog Day at Community Gardens is a heartfelt annual celebration dedicated to our four-legged friends. It’s more than just a fun day—it’s a powerful community-driven event created to shine a light on the daily work of the Bastrop Animal Shelter and to relieve the overwhelming demand on their facilities by driving dog adoptions in a joyful, supportive setting.

Last year’s Dog Day led to the most adoptions of any event the shelter participated in—a testament to the impact this day has on real dogs and real families in Bastrop.

Partnering with Save an Angel, the event also provides free rabies shots and affordable pet services through a mobile clinic that aligns with the shelter’s mission. Together, these efforts give dogs a better chance and empower pet owners with the tools to keep their animals healthy.
